There are loads of book based movies one can find these days. Most of these movies definitely hit box office. Obviously, the book fanatics go gaga over those, expecting a really great movie, more beautiful than the scenes they conjure up in their minds while reading the novel. I am a book lover. I love reading novels. It brings me happiness and completes my day. Oh yes, it does. I'm all for magic, dreams, destiny and love. Love love love.

And so the film is released. After watching, what do we, fans feel??? Disappointment. Yes. Almost all of us feel that. Because the movie was like this, like that. Or it did not satisfy us, we expected more. Sometimes our favorite scenes are not included in the movie. The ones we've been wanting and dying to see. I felt like this in Twilight. The book was very detailed. Very powerful. Every chapter was significant. Meyer was awesome. The movie was rubbish. Many scenes were changed. Super edit. Not what I was expecting. But what could I do? It's just a 2-hour movie compared to the 20+ chapters of the book. But I just wish that the characters read the book several times for them to understand and internalize and deliver their roles well(especially Stewart).

Now that the movie for third installment will soon be released, I'm rereading the book again. Like reviewing. To compare and complain afterward. It better be good. I like Eclipse.

Meet Greg Heffley, The Wimpy Kid

Boys don't keep diaries — or do they?

Diary of a Wimpy Kid (also known as Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Greg Heffley's Journal or Diary of a Wimpy Kid: A Novel in Cartoons) is a novel written by American author Jeff Kinney. It is the first book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.

It's a new school year, and Greg Heffley finds himself thrust into middle school, where undersized weaklings share the hallways with kids who are taller, meaner, and already shaving. The hazards of growing up before you’re ready are uniquely revealed through words and drawings as Greg records them in his diary.

In book one of this debut series, Greg is happy to have Rowley, his sidekick, along for the ride. But when Rowley's star starts to rise, Greg tries to use his best friend’s newfound popularity to his own advantage, kicking off a chain of events that will test their friendship in hilarious fashion.

Author/illustrator Jeff Kinney recalls the growing pains of school life and introduces a new kind of hero who epitomizes the challenges of being a kid. As Greg says in his diary, "Just don't expectme to be all 'Dear Diary' this and 'Dear Diary' that." My sister brought this book at home one day and I was so glad I could read something new. I've always been interested in the wimpy kid series. It's just super fun to read. No complexities. Just humor and laughter. I'm amazed with Greg Heffley's ideas, it may sound impossible(most of the time), but the kid and his best friend Rowley always finds a way to make it happen. The Cheese Touch story was also a laugh. Haha.

WIMPY, means weak, ineffectual, timid, unadventurous, cowardly, etc. I think this adjective is ironic for the book. Though physically quite true, his thoughts and mentality speaks opposite.

If you find your day uninteresting and monotonous, this diary, or journal(as Greg prefers to call it) is a perfect catch. Very easy and simple. Cute.

Quoting my favorite line, "I'll be famous one day, but for now I'm stuck in middle school with a bunch of morons." Haha. Really cool.

Parts of a Motherboard

A motherboard is the central printed circuit board (PCB) in many modern computers and holds many of the crucial components of the system, while providing connectors for other peripherals. The motherboard is sometimes alternatively known as the main board, system board, or, on Apple computers, the logic board. It is also sometimes casually shortened to mobo.

Modern motherboards include, at a minimum:

• sockets (or slots) in which one or more microprocessors may be installed
• slots into which the system's main memory is to be installed (typically in the form of DIMM modules containing DRAM chips)
• a chipset which forms an interface between the CPU's front-side bus, main memory, and peripheral buses
• non-volatile memory chips (usually Flash ROM in modern motherboards) containing the system's firmware or BIOS
• a clock generator which produces the system clock signal to synchronize the various components
• slots for expansion cards (these interface to the system via the buses supported by the chipset)
• power connectors, which receive electrical power from the computer power supply and distribute it to the CPU, chipset, main memory, and expansion cards.

This is our second group task in our Computer Systems subject. We are to memorize the parts of a motherboard. It's kind to choose which of the pictures I searched has the right parts. Each image I found has different parts and structures. We're lucky ma'am didn't make us study and memorize each of their functions.

Strawberry Avalanche

I really have no idea what I should be writing in my first blog post. So I decided I'm going to tell you why I have this weird blog site name.

I was just browsing the net, looking at the songs by Owl City, which is definitely a favorite. I saw this song title which captured my interest(because of the word "strawberry", which I've been dying to eat for months now). So there, I ended up with this. And I just hope Owl City wouldn't mind me using their stuff.


This is a world of dreams and reverie
Where I felt the stars explode around me.
A grasp light flashed with a gleam as it slashed open a moon beam
And I stared back breathlessly as mountains of fruit tumbled out;
